Obituary of Lillian Tobias
TOBIAS (nee THOMPSON), Lillian Meyer – It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear mother, Lillian Meyer Tobias (nee Thompson) on Feb. 19th, 2019. She was the loving and devoted mother of Debbie Davies and Barbara Meyer. Mom was predeceased by her 2 sons, Peter Charles Meyer (1991), and Paul James Meyer (2018). She is also survived by her daughter in law, Isobel Meyer of Niagara Falls, and her dear grandchildren, Peter Davies (Andrea) of Newmarket, Brian Davies (Stacy Melino) of Toronto, Courtney McDonald (Dave Lambie) of London, Lauren McDonald of Waterloo, Natasha Meyer and Amanda Sheppard, both of Niagara Falls. She is remembered by her precious great grandchildren are, Brooke Corey Davies, Kate Rose Davies and Landon and Aiden Sheppard. Mom was predeceased by her husband Ted, (Aug 2017), her parents, Stewart and Pansy Thompson and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Theresa), James (Violet), Garnet and Sonny (Annie) Thompson. Mom has many nieces and nephews in the Trenton and Belleville area, all whom she loved very much. Mom led a full and happy life. She was the last of her generation of Thompsons. She had many friends who share happy memories and share in our loss today. Mom was a long standing member of the Aurora Optimrs Club, and a fundraiser for valuable community projects during her many happy years, when our family lived in Aurora. We are grateful for, and appreciate the kindness and caring shown to our Mom by the staff at Belleville General Hospital, and by friends and family. Mom will be cremated, as she wished, and laid to rest at the Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. Details will be shared at a later date. It is our hope that Mom remains in our hearts with fond and enduring memories, and the sound of her laughter above the rest! Arrangements entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, Belleville (613-968-2273). If desired, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Lillian
