Kathleen « Kay » Tchorzewski
It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen Tchorzewski, 86, announce her peaceful passing surrounded by love and family on February 11, 2019 at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon. Kathleen was born on April 16, 1932 on the family farm near the Village of Glasyn, Saskatchewan. She was born to Nellie and Max Sawchyn and was the only daughter of seven children.
On September 3, 1955, she married Frank Tchorzewski and they settled down in Saskatoon where they raised their five children. Kathleen enjoyed being a stay at home Mom. Once her children were grown, she ran a laundromat for several years and eventually moved into a career with Food Services at the University of Saskatchewan Campus until her retirement.
Mom and Dad retired at Lac des Isles near the Village of Goodsoil, SK. She loved living at the lake and enjoyed fifteen years of a leisurely lifestyle where she spent many hours crafting, gardening and doing puzzles. After the passing of Frank in 2005, Mom moved back to Saskatoon to be closer to her children, where she remained until her passing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Tchorzewski; her parents, Max and Nellie Sawchyn; brothers, Mike and Steve: niece, Patricia Sawchyn; and sister-in-law, Swannie Sawchyn. Left to mourn Kathleen are her children, David (Cynthia), Vivian (Brian) Fleming, Albert (Lori), Verna (Glen) Crockett, Len (Myrna). She will also be dearly missed by her fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, as well as her four brothers, Andrew (Margaret), Nat (Doreen), Bill, Nick and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the many acts of kindness, prayers and sympathies extended during this time. A special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Oliver Lodge for the compassion and special care given to our Mother over the last few years.
