John Alfred Brunton
1925-2019
It is with profound sadness the family announce the passing of John (Jack) Brunton, aka “John Boy of Walton Rd.” peacefully on Mon. Feb. 11, 2019 surrounded by love. Predeceased by his parents: Elsie and Alfred Brunton, his brothers: Harold, Gilbert (Emily), Douglas (Audrey), Harry (Jane), Lorne (Vera), Edward (June), Gordon and his only sister Doris Marie Williams, left to mourn him are brothers: George, Kenneth (Shirley), Gerald (Carol) and Sister-in-law Viola Brunton. He was an extraordinary Uncle to 26 nieces and nephews. John was a kind and gentle person a true gift to anyone who knew him. He loved the outdoors, working in his garden, cutting wood in the bush with his brothers, being with his family. He lived his whole life in Gravenhurst, worked for the Town, volunteered as a Scout and Resource Ranger leader. He was an outstanding mentor to all the young people who knew him in his different capacities. He will always be remembered for his Butter Tarts, Muffins/Cupcakes, Chili Sauce and Pickled Beets. The family would like to give a special thank you to Ken and Shirley Brunton, Blaine Brunton and the late Patricia Hamilton, for their loving and caring support of John over the past few years. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 25th, 11:00 am in the chapel of Cavill-Turner Funeral Home, 215-1 Bay Street, Gravenhurst.
