Inga-Britt Linnea Soderberg
1935-2019
It is with undying love as the falling snow filled the
evening sky, we sadly announce the passing of our Mother, Mor Mor and
Friend on Friday, February 15th, 2019, her two daughters by her side.
Born in Helsinki, Finland on February 2nd, 1935, she was the beloved
only child of the late Lennart Leonard and Hjordis Linnea (Nylund)
Soderberg. In 1955, Inga-Britt was honored with the title of Miss
Suomi and Miss Europe, she was a Toronto model in the 1960’s
and an Ontario sheep farmer from 1971 to 2001. She had a special,
calming connection with birds and animals of all kinds, even some
timber wolves spent a short time out near her barn door yard, each
respecting their own space. She walked with Nature and enjoyed many
outdoor sports. In Fredericton, her favorite pastime was playing
bridge with her friends. Her viewing loyalty was to the news, local
and international and listening to the weather.
Inga-Britt is survived by her children: daughter Shirley
(Errol) Keetch of Fredericton, NB and their family; granddaughter
Daphne (Andrew) Brewer and great grandchildren Molly (Jeffrey)
Schriver, Sarah Brewer, and Connor Brewer; grandson Bryan (Nancy)
Keetch and great grandchildren William and Isabelle Keetch; daughter
Janet Olinoski (Manuel Thibault) of Fredericton Junction, NB and their
family; grandson Dylan Olinoski and great granddaughter Aria Olinoski;
grandson Donovan (Kimberly) Olinoski and great grandson Wilfred
Olinoski; grandchildren Dustin Olinoski, Shannon Olinoski (Steve
Jordao) and Dalton Olinoski; Inga-Britt’s former husband and
father of her daughters, Donald D. Cliffe and her son-in-law David
Olinoski.
There will be no visitation or service at this
time. A private family interment will be held in the Spring in the
Upper Queensbury Cemetery.
For those who wish, a memorial tribute in
Inga-Britt’s honor may be made to Fredericton Hospice or to
Youth in Transition – Chrysalis House.
A special thank you to Fredericton Hospice nurses Anita,
Kayla and Staff for the kindness and compassion mom received on her
last day of life and to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative
Program, Dr. L. Blythe, Dr. G. McDonald and Dr. M. Kenney for the
compassionate care shown to our mother and our family.
