HAUCK, Tonette Marie (née Sverdahl) – Peacefully, at the Misericordia Community Hospital, on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, in her 61st year. Beloved wife of Douglas Hauck. Loving mother of Matthew (Lynn) and Daniel (Mary Gilaine). Cherished grandmother of Emily and Eliza. Treasured daughter of Bill and Freda Sverdahl. Dear sister of Keith (Leora), Dale (Lauri), Diane (David), and the late Bryan. She will be sadly missed by many dear friends. Those wishing may make donations to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Tonette was born in Edmonton to her dear parents Bill and Freda Sverdahl and grew up with her loved brothers Bryan, Keith, Dale, and sister Diane. She married Douglas Hauck on July 7, 1979 and they bought their first home together in Spruce Grove. Doug and Tonette welcomed their first son Matthew in the summer of 1984 then a few years later moved to Stony Plain as a family where their second son Danny was born in the winter of 1990. Tonette was a proud grandmother to Emily and Eliza with whom she loved baking and exploring new places together.
After graduating from Jasper Place Composite High, Tonette worked for Wawanesa and then the University of Alberta. She began working for the City of Spruce Grove in 1982 where many of her colleagues became cherished friends. After thirty five years with the city, Tonette retired in the fall of 2017. She was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Stony Plain where she was very dedicated to the altar guild.
Doug and Tonette enjoyed travelling together around Canada to Victoria BC, Waskesiu SK, Québec City QC, Kingston ON and Prince Edward Island. They travelled frequently to Utah and Arizona where they loved the hiking and scenery.
She loved spending time with her dear family and friends. Tonette always took pride in caring for her home, backyard, and beautiful garden.
Tonette will be missed and remembered by her cherished friends and loving family.
A Celebration of Tonette’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 19 at 1:00 pm from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5010 52 Ave, Stony Plain, AB
