Frederick (Fred) Paul Sinko, age 51, of Tavistock, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2019 with his loving spouse at his side after a hard fought and lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of Cindy for 10 years and dad to their big orange tabby, Mr. Humphries. He was the son of the late Anton and Elizabeth (Glosnek) Sinko. He is survived by brothers Joe (Deborah), Frank (Brenda), John, Dave (Karin) and his sister Donna Wood (Jeff), mother-in-law Ritva Farmer and sisters-in-law Karen VandenBrink (Rob) and Susan McCallum (John) and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred had a varied career that included working in the food industry before moving on to the Ministry of Corrections, followed by 20 plus years at the Stratford Festival. Fred was an avid fan of the Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. He enjoyed cottaging, road trips, cars and photography. Fred also enjoyed being a prankster, as attested to by his family, friends and co-workers, including Joseph Puglia. Friends and family may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, February 8, at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Avondale Cemetery.
