It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved Felicien (Phil) Despres on February 23, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born and raised in Baie Ste-Anne NB, he was the husband of Ginette (Meuse) Despres and step-father to Nicole Chiasson, both of Baie Ste-Anne NB. Sisters Rita Despres (Alden), Murielle Despres, Noella Despres (Elie), Denise Pellerin (Timothy), Liliane Despres (Bernard) and Michelle Despres all of Baie Ste-Anne NB. Brothers Henri Despres (Leoze), Joel Despres (Theresa), Louis Despres (Rosie) all of Baie Ste-Anne NB, Patrick Despres (Janice) of Ontario and Etienne (Josee) of Campbellton, NB. Felicien is predeceased by his parents Israel Despres and Baselice (Daigle) Despres and a brother Albert Despres. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews that were all dear to him, and loved his two « little girls », dogs Bella and Daisy. In his younger years he worked as a fisherman followed by 24 years with Berger Peat Moss where he became friends with many co-workers. He was a kind, gentle, loving man who adored this family, loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and caring for flowers. He had a real appreciation for nature and wildlife. Children loved playing with him because he was such a kid at heart. We cannot express into words how much he will be missed by many. Visitation and a Celebration of his Life will take place on Friday, March 1st, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Golden Age Club in Baie Ste-Anne, NB where food will be served. As per his wishes, there will be no church service. As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Atlantic Canada or to a charity of one’s choice.
