(1925 – 2019)
ÉMILE DOUCETTE, 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 12th, 2019 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was first married to his loving wife the late Geraldine (Lavoie) Doucette and his loving wife of a second marriage Irene (Collette) Doucette of Rogersville. Born in East Collette July 14th, 1925, he was the eldest son of the late Jerry Doucette and of the late Josephine (the late Jos Gallant) Doucette.
In addition to his wife Irene, he is survived by two sons: Lionel (Ester) Doucette and Ronald (Sylvina) Doucette; three daughters: Eliza (late Dan) See, Margaret (Larry) Harris and Patricia (Maurice) Roussy; two stepsons: Gabe Collette (Patricia) and Norm Collette: eight step-daughters: Diane Hossack (Dale), Jackie Hanselpacker (Larry), Patricia Collette, Cecilia Gallant (Roger), Eva Courtemanche (Ivan), Norma Collette, Gisele Parkinson and Carole Collette; six brothers: Alyre, Melas, David, Robert, Leo and Fidele; two sisters: Clara and Rosela, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
Emile was predeceased by two sons: Joseph and Francis; one daughter Catherine; two grandsons: Charlie Connors (Eliza) and Timothy Doucette (Ronald and Sylvina); one sister Julienne; four brothers: Vincent, Aurele, Moïse and Abel.
He lived in Harvey Station during his working life, and returned to Rogersville to live after the passing of his first wife, Geraldine. After Emile’s retirement from the automotive industry, he dabbled in woodworking, gardening, and particularly enjoyed playing crib on a daily basis with Irene and Cecilia, who was a great help and comfort to them in later years. Emile touched many hearts and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family is now receiving relatives and friend, at Salon « La Colombe » 11325 Route 126 in Rogersville. The funeral will be celebrated at the Saint-François-de-Sales RC Church in Rogersville on Saturday, February 16th, at 11am..
Visiting hours: Friday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm and Saturday from 9:30am until the departure for the funeral.
