MacLeod, Mary Dora
(July 18, 1934 – February 23, 2019)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious Memere (Dora). Rarely does a person enjoy the level of love and respect that was so easily bestowed on her by everyone who was blessed to know her.
United with her son David, she leaves behind a family that will cherish her memory and feel her loss forever. Beloved wife of Allister MacLeod for 63 years, adored mother of her sons Thomas (Jennifer), Stewart (Nancy) and Dwayne (Tara) and the heart of her loving daughter and best friend Lynn (Deb).
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spoiled them endlessly with attention and affection. She couldn’t hide her love for Kennedy (Cody), Taylor (Andrew), Conor, David, Allison, Robbie, Jake, Megan and Cameron. There was a newfound spark in her eye with the arrival of her great grandchildren Tatum, Charlie, Spencer and Finnegan..
The family would like to thank the staff of the B5 wing of the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their exceptional care and support during her short stay there.
It was Dora’s wish to have a private celebration of her life with her immediate family. If you wish, donations in her memory to the Queensway Carleton Hospital or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.
