Obituary of Delia Connell
Delia Ann Connell (Halbot)
February 26th, 1961 – February 18th, 2019
Delia completed her journey, suddenly and unexpectedly, with the same grace and dignity in which she loved and lived her life, on February 18th, 2019 at the Labrador Health Center in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
Leaving behind to mourn are her loving husband Al, son Jonathan and daughter Sarah; mother Mary Halbot; siblings Judy (Gary) Vickers, Wanda (Robert) Williams, Wayne (Elaine) Halbot and Kathy Blake; mother-in-law Sadie Connell and sister-in-law Pat (Mal) Appleby; many nieces and nephews; as well as a large circle of friends and former co-workers. She was predeceased by her father Walter Halbot and father-in-law Iain Connell.
Visitation will take place for friends and family on Wednesday, from 7-9 pm, Thursday 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2 pm.
Dearest to Delia, and important above all else, was her unwavering, steadfast and profound love of her husband and children. Family was second to none for Delia. She was a proud and dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. Delia was always a shining example of all that is good and beautiful in the world, showing everyone the truest meaning of family and love.
Delia worked tirelessly with diligence, competence, and with purpose of making the lives of others better. The commitment she had to her profession is evident in the voices of the many people of Labrador with whom she worked with unwavering dedication to support.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Delia to the Children’s Wish Foundation, an organization that had a profound impact on her family
