Harrington, Beverly June « Bev »… Peacefully passed away after a long journey of care at the age of 60 years with the support of her daughter Melanie. Predeceased by her husband Russ Harrington. While that journey was a big part of her story, and undoubtedly life changing and impactful across generations in our family, it wasn’t her whole story.
Bev was a city girl with a country heart. She moved from Toronto to the Quinte area to attend college, where she met Russ and fell in love. Together they bought a farm and built a life in the country. They dreamed big and made plans.
When those dreams were cut short by illness plans shifted. Bev threw all of her energy into not only surviving, but into raising myself, her only daughter, from her hospital bed. My mother’s fierce love and determination set in place the foundation that I’ve since built a life on.
Bev was smart, incredibly funny and her own greatest advocate.
She loved to read, she loved flowers, lemon cake and a good hair day and she lived for the moments we were together. Bev’s greatest joy over the last 5 years was watching me turn her farm, and the land she loved so much, into a thriving flower farm.
Bev was the ‘Dahlia’ in Dahlia May Flower Farm.
Bev was my best friend, the greatest source of joy in my life, and the heart and foundation behind everything we have built. She left us with so much love and an incredible legacy to live up to. At Bev’s request cremation has taken place. The family are hosting a celebration of life at the Trent Port Marina, 15 Creswell Dr., Trenton on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 1-4 pm.
