CARSCADDEN, HAROLD –

CARSCADDEN, Harold Emerson
May 7, 1938 – February 25, 2019
Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2019, at the Renaissance Retirement Home in Gatineau, Quebec. Loving husband of Barbara Ann Carscadden (Griffin) for 58 years and father of Kim (Glenn), Steve (Nancy), Randy, Karen and Kelly (Andrew). Very proud grandfather of Alex (Erin), Jordan (Jaime), Roxanne (Chad), Tyeler, Griffin, and Chelsea. He was a proud uncle to his niece and nephews.
His children recognize and appreciate that their Dad always put everyone’s needs ahead of his own. After leaving Saskatchewan at a young age, he eventually came to Ottawa and then to Aylmer, Quebec, where he started his family. He worked for a few companies over the years, including Earl Carr Electric, General Electric, Am-Tech, Pace Safety Systems and Univex Canada.
He was a big sports fan and it was a memorable moment for him to attend the first Ottawa Senators game at the Palladium in Kanata. He excelled at all his hobbies. We are fortunate to have some of his paintings, refinished furniture and the cherished carved loons. We will miss his sense of humour and pay it forward. Thanks Dad.
Our thanks to the staff at the Renaissance Retirement Home.
To honour our Dad’s wishes, no Funeral Service will take place. A private family ceremony will be held to celebrate our father’s life.
All are welcome to share memories and stories of Hal (Sam) and celebrate his life. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family, web site adress appearing below.
