OBITUARY
Samia Machaalany
June 13, 1953 – January 15, 2019
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the age of 65.
Beloved wife of Fouad Machaalany. Caring mother of Roy, Lawyer (Dr.Takla Murr), Dr. Jimmy and Rémy.
Loving daughter of Souad Ghantous and the late Ibrahim Berchan. Dear sister of Zakia Fares (Nehmatallah), Mona El-Hajj (Elie), Marcel Hajj (Fares), Madona Boulos (Joseph), George Berchan (Nawal Hobeika), and Carole Skaff (Daoud), all in Canada. Cherished grandmother of Cristiana and Frédéric.
She will be missed and remembered by her relatives and friends in Lebanon and Canada, and many students in Lebanon and Canada as a dedicated teacher (College Saint-Joseph de Hull). The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm at McEvoy-shields Funeral Home and Chapel , 1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 11:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Church at 1161 North River Rd. Ottawa.
Interment at Beechwood Cemetery. We will treasure the fond memories she blessed us with. In Samia’s memory, donations to Saints Peter and Paul Church and ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated.
