Ruth Caroline Zimmer
Ruth C.
Zimmer, 73, of Riverview, passed away peacefully within the comforts
of her home on Tuesday, January 15,
2019.
Born in
Shelburne, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the Ruby (Harris)
Hiltz of Caverhill, NB and the late E. Frank
Hiltz.
Ruth was a
former office clerk, having worked with various companies over the
years. She enjoyed tending to her family and in her younger years, she
and Anthony enjoyed bowling, camping and travelling and spending time
in Prince Edward Island.
In addition
to her mother, Ruby, Ruth will be sadly missed by her husband of over
34 years, Anthony Zimmer of Riverview; daughter, Andrea Best (Mark
Lean) of Upper Coverdale and son, Edward Best of Moncton; grandson,
Ryan Best; sisters, Margaret Springer (Don Clark), Sandy Rickard
(Bill), Eldena Landry (Albert), Elva Kay (Dave), Christina Best
(Willis) and Mary Hiltz-Doucette (Stuart); brothers, John Hiltz and
Daniel Hiltz (Kelly), stepchildren, Edith, Leslie, Barbara, Antoinette
Zimmer; brothers-n-law, James Rogers (Elizabeth) and George Springer;
as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family
members.
In addition
to her father, she was predeceased by her sister, Jean Rogers; nephew,
Franklin Rogers.
In keeping
with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or
funeral service. A private family gathering for sharing of memories
will be held. Interment will be held in Upper Caverhill Cemetery, NB
in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995).
