Richard Douglas Kissock peacefully passed away January 18th 2019 surrounded by family. Rick was well known for his love of cars, driving, sports, and was a masterful storyteller. He was a fun loving guy that would do anything for anyone. He was predeceased by his parents; Gwendolyn and Michael Kissock, and his brother Larry Kissock. Rick is survived by his wife Lorri, his children Darrin (Stacey, Devin, Taylor), Rikki (Jorja, Emmrie), Chris (Shaunna, Kyran, Linden), and Tami (Ryan, Hudson, Harlow); his sister Judy (Jack), niece Lora (Kim, Abby, Macy), nephew Jason (Nancy), sister in law Gail, nephew Jordan (Jagoda, Juliette), niece Erin (Enrico, Dominic, Marcus).
Rick started his career at Tech Cominco before pursuing self-employment in the upholstery business with his wife Lorri. He then ultimately found his love for driving by transporting vehicles. Richard was often found at the ball park or arena around the community supporting and believing that all kids should have the opportunity to play sports. Rick was an outstanding father and grandpa who lived his life making sure his kids and grandkids had the opportunity to do what they loved.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Rick’s name may be made to Jumpstart at any Canadian Tire store or online at www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 25th at 3:00pm at the Fruitvale Memorial Hall.
