Leslie “Allan” Wiffen left us to find peace on January 13, 2019. Allan was born April 15, 1936 in Dodsland, Saskatchewan. The family moved to BC In 1944. Allan grew up in the BX and enjoyed life on a small farm.
On November 9, 1956, he married Evelyn Odiele Norman. They worked and played side by side for 60 years. They taught their children the importance of love, family and good work ethics.

Allan will also be missed by his companion, Jean Mcgibbon. Jean’s gentleness and love made his last couple years happy ones. The companionship they shared was inspiring.
Allan also leaves behind his sister, June (Ken) Owen; brother, Wallace (Donna) Wiffen;
sister-in-law, Madge (Art) Haycock; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by wife, Evelyn; his mother and father, Leslie and Laura Wiffen; mother –in-law, Odiele Norman; and sister & brother-in-law, Margaret & Don Favelle.
Allan and Evelyn purchased Lincoln Lanes in 1969 and they worked hard to make it a
thriving business. Lincoln Lanes is still run by family to this day. Many lasting friendships were made over the years at the bowling centre. Everywhere Dad went, he would know someone.
In earlier years Allan enjoyed hockey, bowling, golf, farming and travelling. In later years he enjoyed listening to his music, cooking, a glass of wine with Jean and visits from his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Everyone loved Papa. He loved to tease people and always had a twinkle in his eye while doing so.
The family would like to thank the staff at Creekside for being there for Allan during his last years. We would also like to thank the nurses at the Vernon hospital, especially Cora, who showed Allan and family such compassion during his fight.
At Allan’s request, a funeral will not be held. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Allan’s name to the Alzheimer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
