Forever In Our Hearts
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Leah Lorraine Kime (nee Gates) in the first hour of Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 89 years.
She is predeceased by her parents, Stewart and Berdie Gates; brother Barry Gates; and grandson Jason Patrick.
Leah leaves behind her immediate family, husband of 68 years Frank Kime; daughters Leslie and Laurel; sons John (Natasha) and Mark (Sheila); granddaughters Christine and Nicole (Tony); adopted granddaughter Claire; great grandchildren Mataya, Kason and Paxton; sisters Jackie and Phyllis; brothers George and Morris; and many treasured nieces, nephews and their families.
Leah was born near Earl Grey and moved to Regina during her early school age years. She became a registered nurse and worked at the Regina General Hospital.
Upon marrying Frank Kime in 1950, she moved to the family farm in the Milestone area.
She became a very busy farmer’s wife while still working in the winter. Later Leah enjoyed many useful and creative crafts such as sewing, painting and teaching ceramics from her basement in the winter months.
In the retirement years she and Frank became Snowbirds to Mesa, Arizona where she continued to be active in crafts (such as silversmithing) as well as more social activities such as golfing and gaming.
In 2016, Leah and Frank moved into Wintergreen retirement home in Regina.
A double memorial service for Leah and brother Barry is in the planning for summer 2019.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to your favorite charity in memory of Leah.
Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Leah Lorraine Kime 2019..
