Keith Victor Griffith passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Norquay Health Centre on January 8, 2019, at the age of 87 years.
Keith was born September 19, 1931 in Central Butte, SK. He was the youngest son of Russell and Victoria (Gadd) Griffith. At 6 weeks of age, he and his mother and siblings moved to the Swan Plain District and later settled in the Parr View District, SK. Keith attended Moss Side School until the 8th grade. He then went to farm with his father and brothers. In 1951, he relocated to Moose Jaw and worked for Moose Jaw Light and Power.
In 1952, while in Moose Jaw, Keith married Audrey Rose. In the spring of 1953, they moved to the farm in the Parr View District, where they initiated their farming life together. They started a dairy and later sold it and transitioned in to beef cattle operations. They continued to cattle farm until the cattle were sold in 1998. After the cattle were sold, Keith and his son, Hal, continued to grain farm. He also worked in the forest, north of home, during the winter months.
In 2006, Keith and Audrey retired and moved to Yorkton, SK. Over the years, they enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling together. They went as far as Disneyland, Mexico, Nashville and Arizona.
Keith enjoyed hunting and guiding, snowmobiling, quadding and playing cards. He also liked watching hockey during the winter months.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Victoria; his son, Larry; two sisters, Evelyn Johnson and a sister in infancy; brothers, Melvin and Edwin; daughter-in-law, Karen Griffith; nephew, Elwin; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
