FOX, Judith “Judy” Muriel (Mills), Port George – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Muriel (Mills) Fox, beloved wife, mother and friend, on January 2nd, 2019, at the Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Middleton, NS. Judy was the daughter of the late Walter and Muriel Mills. She is survived by her husband, Francis “Frank” Fox of Port George, NS; and children, Lorcan (Yun Hee) Fox of Coquitlam, BC; Nadine (Peter) Fox of Mont Cascades, QC; Kevin (Tammy) Fox of Dundas, ON; and Adrian (Wendy) Fox of Toronto, ON; as well as her brother, David (Jill) Mills, England; and many nieces and nephews in England. Judy dearly loved her three grandchildren, Chan, Julian and Rowan. She was predeceased by her brother, Geoffrey Mills. Judy was born in Letchworth, Hertfordshire UK, 1st November, 1940, and spent her early years in England before moving to Canada where she met her husband Frank. They lived in Toronto, Dublin, and Montreal before settling in Halifax, where Judy worked in the Dalhousie Philosophy department. She loved Dalhousie and her job interacting with students. Eventually Judy and Frank retired to their summer home in Port George, NS, where Judy cared for her beautiful garden and entertained many friends and family. Judy led a fascinating life and told wonderful stories about her travels and experiences. Her gatherings were legendary; tables filled with her delicious cooking and baking and presided over with Judy’s incredible spirit and humour. She was the life of any party. She loved listening to music, a brisk walk with her dogs, a thought-provoking movie, and a lively conversation. She was well known for her generosity with her family and friends, and also dedicated her time volunteering with organizations, most recently focusing on adult literacy. Judy faced her brief illness the same way she lived her life; with grace and class. Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 1-855-825-3448. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.middletonfuneralhome.com where an on-line guest book may be signed. We will remember and miss Judy, always. In the words of an old friend « We carry around our good memories of that lovely lively person that Judy was. Such a vibrant and brave girl who was up for anything and so full of fun and laughter. »
