James «Jim» Terry
1942-2019
Jim Terry of Riverview passed away at The Moncton Hospital on
Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late
Boyd and Jennie (Butler) Terry.
Jim graduated from The University of Moncton
(L’Universite St-Joseph) in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts
Degree. He began his career with Household Finance. After six years,
Jim moved on to the Department of Social Development. He retired in
2000 after 30+ years. He remained involved in his community and was
instrumental in the formation of the local chapter of the
Alzheimer’s Association. A great deal of his leisure time
was enjoyed outdoors. He especially loved fishing and camping. Jim had
a passion for bluegrass music, attended a number of festivals and also
played for many seniors at different local homes.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Marilyn Terry
(nee Cormier); children; Sean (Susan) Terry, Erin Terry-Persaud and
Brendon (Jennifer Jeffries) Terry; his grandchildren: Chelsea, Ryan
and Sarah; Shea and Kieran; and Kylan, Maddon and Rhiannon; as well as
his sister-in-law Verlie Terry. Besides his parents, Jim was
predeceased by his brother Bernie Terry.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview, NB E1B 0E4 (869-2007) on Friday from 6:00 –
8:00pm. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 19,
2019 at 1:00pm with Ed Brine officiating. Donations can be made in
Jim’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society Society. Online

received.
