HANRAHAN, Terence Timothy
1956 – 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Tim Hanrahan on January 23, 2019, at the age of 62. After a long battle with cancer, he died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He is predeceased by his daughter Celine as well as parents Audrey and Terence Hanrahan. He is survived by: daughters Annie (Darren McKiernan), Marta (Craig Marchand) and son Mason (Katie McMurchy, expecting granddaugther Sophie); sisters Sharon, Holly and Anne; brothers Tom and Ed; nephews Ruben, Ryan and Daniel; nieces Robyn, Cindy, Naomi; great-nephews and great-nieces Elise, Maryn, Megan, Liv, Yula, Hannah, Noah; beloved dog Keith as well as many loving cousins and friends.
A promising junior hockey player, Tim left the sport due to an injury and established a successful photography studio in Toronto. He later embarked on a second career as an arborist and has left the company in the hands of his son Mason. In his free time, he enjoyed blacksmithing and creating multi-media sculptures, which incorporated branches and other materials from his arboriculture business.
He wishes his family a long, harmonious and productive life together.
The celebration of life will be held at the COOPÉRATIVE FUNÉRAIRE DE L’OUTAOUAIS, at 95, Cité-des-Jeunes Bvld, in Gatineau (Hull sector), on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2 pm. The family will receive condolences as of 1:30 pm. Tim requested that all attendees wear plaid in any form.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Morgan, Dr. Lapointe and the many nurses and other staff who supported and cared for him until the end.
He encourages the bereaved to donate to the SPCA, the Ottawa Humane Society or any animal rescue foundation of their choosing.
