October 11, 1928 – December 29, 2018
William George Fogg, beloved husband of the late Isabelle Fogg of Invermay, SK, passed away at the Theodore Health Centre on December 29, 2018, at the age of 90 years.
George was born October 11, 1928 to George Sr. and Fannie (White) Fogg on the family farm in the Chain of Lakes District, south of Invermay, SK. His love of farming began, and when he wasn’t helping his Dad with the farm chores, he played hockey and ball with his brother, Harold. George attended Chain of Lakes School, where he met the love of his life, Isabelle White. They were married April 8, 1953 and lived on the Fogg farm with his parents.
George’s mother passed away February 6, 1955. His father remarried in 1956 and moved to Invermay, SK. George Sr. passed away October 24, 1997. George and Isabelle purchased the homestead from George’s Dad and together they raised five sons on their family farm. Active in his community, George was a Charter Kinsmen member, represented the Chain of Lakes School District in the Canora School Unit, spent countless hours watching his sons play hockey and baseball, enjoyed curling, hunting and enjoyed the Invermay Fair.
In August 1977, George and Isabelle bought the Red & White store in Invermay. They continued to live on the farm until 1981, when they sold it to their son, Jeff, and moved to town. It was at that time that George also served on Invermay Village Council. In 1996, George and Isabelle sold their business and retired. George had the opportunity to enjoy several trips with family and friends. His travels took him to the US, Hawaii, Mexico, Great Britain, as well as on many other adventures. He even enjoyed a Caribbean cruise. When Isabelle passed away in 2006, George continued to live in the house in Invermay. In 2017, he relocated to the Theodore Care Home where he continued to reside until his passing on December 29, 2018. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
