George Bernard McMillan
1951-2019
It is with great sadness that the family of George McMillan
of Saint John, cherished husband of Susan Gibson, announces his
passing which occurred on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Saint John
Regional Hospital. Born on April 13, 1951 in Saint John, he
was the son of the late George and Thelma (Dunphy)
McMillan.
During his working career, George was a loyal employee of
Labatt Breweries where he was employed as a Power Engineer and very
active with his local Union. In his younger years, he
enjoyed baseball, judo, was a proud volunteer with the Chicken Soup
Club and also enjoyed gardening. Most of all George adored
his family and always treasured the times spent with those he
loved.
Besides his wife, Susan, George will also be lovingly
remembered by his children, Christopher McMillan (Raye-Lynn) of
Fredericton, George McMillan (Cherie) of Quispamsis, Adam McMillan of
Saint John and Jennifer Robinson (Corey) of Saint John; brothers, John
McMillan (Maureen) of Halifax, Gordon McMillan (Cheryl) of Saint John;
sisters, Dawn Marie Durley (Bruce) of Saint John and Crystal Koven
(Mark) of Saint John; precious grandchildren, Delaney, Dustin,
Kendall, Hannah, Owen, Brooke, Benjamin and Lyla; as well as several
nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also
predeceased by his son, Geoffrey; brothers, Bruce and Edward
« Buck » and sister, Debbie Hayes.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with
visiting on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home
Chapel on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment
will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the
Children’s Wish Foundation.
