WICKS, DOUGLAS FREDERICK – Peacefully at home with family at his side, Douglas Wicks passed away at age 65 on January 10, 2019 from Pancreatic Cancer. Beloved husband to Maureen Wicks (Larose) of 47 years. Doug was a loving father to daughter Kelly McGregor (Mike), and son Patrick Wicks, and his grand puppy Lola. He will be greatly missed by his sister Lynda Yager (John), numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Doug was predeceased by his parents Jack Wicks and Lucy Wicks (Scott). Douglas was born in Sarnia on August 14, 1953 and retired in 2014 from Local 663 where he was employed as a steam fitter/welder since 1974. Doug worked all across Canada and had a special love for Saskatchewan. Doug loved everything about his life, especially his family and friends, his job and his union. His kind and gentle soul will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Dr. Ken Leslie, Dr. Maddison, Dr. Kim and especially nurse Patty Smallwood of Bayshore for her care and compassion in caring for Doug in his final days. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday January 18, 2019 at 2pm at (D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 102 Victoria St. N. Sarnia). Family and friends may visit on Friday January 18, 2019 at 1pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or Bladder Cancer Canada would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J.
