October 4, 1942 – July 2, 2018
Zacharias Waldner, age 75, of Winnipeg MB, passed away on Monday July 2, 2018, at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Maureen, their children: Kelly, Kevin, Joshua and Joseph; brothers: Harry (Sarah), John, Leonard (Margie); sisters: Susie, Maggie (Ben), Lena (Pete), and Cathy (Mike); brothers-in-law: Bill (Joanne), Howard, Donald (Diane); sisters-in-law: Lynne (Mark), Karen (Alfred), and Kathy and many other extended family members and friends.
Zacharias was predeceased by his parents Zacharias and Margaret Waldner, his in-laws Frank and Maureen Norris, his brothers: Jake and Henry Waldner; his brothers-in-law: Harry Gross and Robert Norris; and his sister-in-law Heather Waldner.
Zack was content to just have his immediate family around him. One of his favourite past times was to jump in the truck with the whole family and just go for a drive. Destinations weren’t always chosen in advance and they could take the family just about anywhere in Manitoba. There really was no other purpose for these trips other than spending time with family and taking in the scenery of Manitoba’s countryside.
Zack enjoyed playing the harmonica and was a faithful listener to the Sunday Request Show.
Our family would like to thank the paramedics/first responders that transferred Zack, the Emergency Room staff, and also the staff on the 3 North Ward at Grace Hospital that were involved with his care.
Cremation will be taking place and a small private gathering will be held for close family and friends.
