Death Notice
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Bluewater Health, William Frederick Mann passed away at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Annette (née Woelk) for 70 years. Loving father of Cheryl Wark, Bill (Lorrie) Mann, Patricia Mann-Bentley (Barry Bentley) and Brian Mann (Dina Zurawski). Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Marcel) Paquette, Jason (Jen) Wark, Jamie (Wendy) Wark, Michael (Kelly) Mann, Christopher Mann (Amber Stone), Nicholas Male (Ashley DiBona), Tyler Male (Shannon Cavanaugh), Chad Bentley (Amanda Radychewsky), Kelsy Bentley (Mike Campanale), Eric Guthrie, Haley Mann (Dan Yorsh) and Bryce Mann. Treasured great-grandfather of many great-grandsons and great-granddaughters. Dear brother of Murray (the late Donna) Mann of St. Catherines; and survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Florence Mann, his sister Dolores Grimes, his parents-in-law Henry and Elizabeth Woelk, his brother-in-law Hank (Helen) Woelk, his sisters-in-law Louise (Lyle) Drummond and Irma Woelk-Smith (Bud Smith); and his sons-in-law Steve Dionne, Steve Male and Jim Wark. Bill was born in Sarnia on August 6, 1929. In 1945, he met the love of his life Annette in an employment line at the Heinz Factory in Leamington. They got married in 1947, and moved back to Sarnia. Bill worked at Cabot Carbon for over 35 years and retired in 1990. He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church in Sarnia, Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 62, the Optimist’s Club and the Sarnia Air Cadets. Bill loved his community, and dedicated his life to Sarnia youth. He was very involved with the Neighbour Improvement Board, and spearheaded the campaign to build a pool in Tecumseh Park. Bill, along with his wife Annette, founded and organized the Sarnia Marching Angels Drum and Bugle Corp, an all-girl drum corp, in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 1885 London Line, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the War Amps, Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
Visitation
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Service
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 1885 London Line, Sarnia.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the War Amps, Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
