Wilfred (Bill) Trueman
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wilfred (Bill) Trueman, age 72, of Prince Albert, SK on Friday, April 6, 2018. Bill’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at River Park Funeral Home, Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Bill is survived by his daughter, Coralee (Kevin) Eytcheson and her son, Cameron (Christine) Eytcheson; his daughter, Kimberley (Jodi) Trueman; and his son, Greg (Shannon) Trueman and their children, Brady, Tasha (Jarrett), Tilynn and Taiden Trueman and Alex and Kylie Halliday; his sisters, Bonnie (Bruce) Lucas, Vickie (Omer) Nicholas, Carolyn (Terry) O’Leary; his brothers, Tim (Cindy) Trueman and Patrick Trueman; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Cheryl; his parents, George and Peggy Trueman; his sisters, Linda Trueman and Danita Trueman; and twin grandsons, Mason and Tadd Trueman. Bill was born December 14, 1945 in Prince Albert, SK and left to join the military at a young age. Bill trained and was posted to various bases around Canada and met his wife Cheryl in Gypsumville MB. They married on October 23, 1965 in Belleville, ON. They were soon stationed in Comox, BC where they welcomed their daughters, Coralee in 1967 and Kimberley in 1969 and transferred to Sioux Lookout, ON where their son, Greg was born in 1971. Bill was stationed in Winnipeg for a brief time before leaving the military and taking a position at Mattabi Mines near Ignace, ON. He worked there for many years as a mechanic while his children grew up, and the family moved back to Prince Albert in September 1986. The Red River Roping and Riding Arena North of Prince Albert was one of Bills favorite jobs, where he enjoyed looking after the horses and cattle and spending time with his new-found friends. Bill delivered the Daily Herald, Star Phoenix and Shopper for over 20 years to small towns, farms and carriers along Highway 55 from Prince Albert to Choiceland and put on more than 2 million kilometers on several vehicles in that time. It was a job he loved and even though he retired from the Daily Herald a couple years ago, he still kept a new, less strenuous weekly route to keep busy until the time of his passing. Dad’s first priority was his family. He loved camping, fishing and spending time with them at Robinson Lake in Ontario and later at Candle Lake where he had a seasonal lot for many years. He and other family members were Raider season ticket holders and enjoyed the games with his family and fellow hockey fans over many exciting and heartbreaking seasons. It is the family’s request that in lieu of tribute, donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Ave #26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
