Obituary for Werner Boeswald
It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Werner Boeswald on January 25, 2018. Werner was brought into the world in Rouyn, Noranda, on August 27, 1965 to his dad Josef Boeswald and his mom Ruth Boeswald. Eventually his family made their way to Sudbury, which Werner would call home until he married where afterward he and Michelle moved to Skead, which he cherished. He is predeceased by his dad Josef Boeswald, his brother Walter, his dear sweet niece Reniessa Boeswald and his in-laws Jackie & Mike Furlong. Werner leaves behind to grieve his mom Ruth, his sister Milla & her husband Rick Lamothe their children Joe Lamothe (Meaghan) and Jennifer Chretien (Joel), his brother Ernie and his wife Sonia their children Keggan, Cohen and Grayson, and his brother Joe & his wife Janet their children Brandon & Britney Butera (Paolo), his sister-in-law Lynn Boeswald her children Lynzy Lalande (Ian) and Walter. Michelle Furlong his wife hit the jackpot the day they married 26 years ago, a gentleman who always took care of her, such as never, ever missing a garbage day, pulled her car out of the garage daily, made her two cups of daily coffee, loved her unconditionally and allowed her as many home renovations and shopping trips without ever giving her any grief. As for taking on the role of dad to Michael and Christopher, he was simply the best. Werner was always Michael’s greatest cheerleader at minor hockey games, forever in awe of his son when he graduated and became a Chartered Accountant and would always lend a helping hand without ever being asked. As for his son Christopher somehow he found himself in the bush taking down trees with a huge variety of chain saws, attempting to convince Chris to play “organized” sports to no avail but dad was always so accepting of Chris simply for marching to his own drum a lot like Werner & his genuine joy when Chris had finally found “his calling in life” as an apprentice automotive mechanic at Laking Toyota. Werner could not have been more proud of Christopher’s many talents. He was a devoted Montreal Canadiens fan and cherished his annual trips to watch them with his son Michael. He will also be greatly missed by Jack his English springer spaniel who will now have to go without treats every 15 minutes. There will be no other like Werner, who embodied a strong work ethic having worked full-time since the age of 12 to support his family and was working for C&W Services for over 26 years at the time of his death, a husband without a man cave or golfing buddies who spent any spare time with Michelle and a genuine family man who Michael and Christopher could always rely upon he was without a doubt “our” rock. Until we meet again Werner, it is not goodbye but so long as we are certain we will meet again¬ our dear friend, supportive husband and best dad! A chapel service will be celebrated Friday, February 2, 2018 at 4:30 p.m at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd Sudbury. In lieu of flowers donations to Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer – NOFCC would be appreciated (by cheque only) or online at www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
