WEINTZ, Friedrich (Fred)
1926 — 2018
Fred went to be with his Lord and Saviour on September 12, 2018 at the age of 91. Born on December 4, 1926 in Romania, Fred moved as a young boy with his family to Germany. There he learned his trade of masonry work. He married Caroline in 1952 and shortly thereafter emigrated to Canada. After some years and two children in Winnipeg, the family made the final move to Kelowna in 1967.
Fred loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing chopping word, gardening and going for long walks.
He was predeceased by his father Ludwig, mother Maria, and brother Jacob. Survived by Caroline, his loving wife of 65 years, son Rolf (Michele), daughter Monica Connor (Norman), grandchildren Craig (Janna), Kristina and Jennifer and great grandson Levi. Fred will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Pastor Eduard Hahn officiating.
