Viola Regis Pike

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Viola Regis Pike (nee Hinks) announces her passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Born in Channel-Port aux Basques, NL. Viola was the daughter of the late William and Susan Hinks (nee Gilcrest). She was also predeceased by her husband Gerald Pike in 1983; father and mother-in-law James W and Alice Pike (nee Sheaves); brother Gerald W Hinks; brothers-in-law Eric Pike, Robert (Bob) (Carrie) Pike, and Gordon Billard.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Valerie (Winston) Ingram, Gerald Jr. (Jerry) (Phyllis) Pike, Audrey (Lloyd) Francis all of Port aux Basques, NL, Kathleen (Kay) (Chesley) LeRiche of St. John’s, NL; grandchildren Troy (Cindy) Ingram of Beaver Bank, NS, Trent Ingram of Toronto, Ont, Tony (Sarah) Ingram of Halifax, NS, Pamela (Kevin) Frampton, Christa (Mike) Curtis both of Leduc, AB, Eric (Megan) Legge of Sherwood Park, AB, Andrea (Colin) Osmond, Keira Francis both of Port aux Basques, NL, Jody (Scott) Luby of Mount Pearl, NL, Kenneth (Ashley) LeRiche of Fort McMurray, AB, Jonathan (Stephanie) LeRiche of St. John’s, NL, Lori (Jason) Keeping, Carla Courtney (Gavin Brown) both of Sudbury, Ont, Sherry-Lynn Courtney (Scott Hanlon), Raymond Courtney both of St. John’s, NL; great-grandchildren Brandon, Liam, Dylan, Olivia, Caleb, Myleigh, Patrick, Jack, Lily, Zachary, Chloe, Casey, Kaileigh, Auston, Jason, Joshua, Emma, Aiden, Ryder; great-great-grandson Logan. She also leaves to mourn sisters-in-law Audrey Hinks of Toronto, Ont, Marie Billard and Marie Pike both of Port aux Basques, NL; brother-in-law Harold (Kathleen) Pike of Dartmouth, NS and a very large circle of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Viola’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 10th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. in Port aux Basques, NL. A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at 11 am officiated by The Rev. Eddie Coleman with interment of ashes to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Viola’s memory can be made to St. James Anglican Church or the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre Foundation.
