It is with great sadness, the family of Veronica Caione announces her passing at Moog Hospice in Penticton B.C., on February 27th, 2018 at 77 years of age.
Veronica was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 8th, 1940 to Walter and Justine Gay. Veronica was young when her father passed away, and her Mother later married Nicholas Shaley. When Peter became ill, they moved to Penticton, B.C., for better medical help. After Peter’s death, Veronica became involved with St. Ann’s Parrish Catholic Women’s League, and was an active volunteer with the church, and the community, where she made many friends.
Veronica was predeceased by her Father, Mother, Step-Father, son Nicholas, husband Peter, sister Mary Anne Copeland, brother-in –law Steve Repa, and special Uncle and Aunt – Nick and wife Mary Gay.
Veronica is survived by 3 children- Pat (Marjorie), Theresa (George) Duce, and David (Tracy) Onuliak.
7 grandchildren – Jamie (Rachal) Caione, Michael (Jackie) Caione, Jason (Emily) Caione, Nikki (Rob) Morris, Lindsey Duce, Samantha and Alex Onuliak.
12 great grandchildren – Justice Oullet, Jana, Jace, Jeihra and Jessa Caione, Mason Caione, Paige, Cameron and Emmett Caione, Jacob, Matilda and Alexander Morris.
Veronica is also survived by step-brothers Ron (Charlotte) Shalley, Don (Marcia) Shalley, step-sisters Pat Repa, Marrianne Wilson (Jim Schnerch), Brother-in-Law Don Copeland, Aunt Pauline Ehr and their families.
Many thanks to special friend Jane Somerville, who was there for Veronica until the end. The staff at The Village by the Station, Moog Hospice, Father Rex Velmonte and the ladies of the CWL, and Chaplin Dean.
Funeral services for Veronica will be held on Monday, March 12th, 2018 at St. John Vianney Church, Penticton, at 10:30 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Moog Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
