Obituary of Verna Shreve-Rhue
SHREVE-RHUE, Verna – Died peacefully on Friday, December 22nd in Es County at the age of 99. Much loved sister and aunt, she was predeceased by sisters Enid and Avril, and brothers Dyke, Edgar and Ian. She will be missed by nephews Brian, Ian, Alan and Michael. Verna was born in North Buxton in 1919 to Grace (nee Dyke) and Edgar Shreve. As a young woman, she moved to Toronto where she opened a successful hair dressing business. In the early 1980s she returned to North Buxton to care for her mother, remaining there until requiring support herself. Verna loved music and was an accomplished pianist and piano teacher. Her infectious spirit and laughter will be missed by all those fortunate to have known her. We extend a special thank you to all of the loving caregivers at Extendicare Tecumseh.
The viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the North Buxton Community Church on Thursday, December 27, 2018. The church is located at 21991 A D Shadd Rd, North Buxton, ON.
