Vera C. Watters
1921-2018
WATTERS, VERA C. – Vera Catherine Watters, age 97, beloved wife
of the late Donald Watters, formerly of Marks Street, St. Stephen, NB,
passed away peacefully at the Miramichi Regional Hospital in
Miramichi, NB on Thursday, November 22nd, 2018. Born in Milltown, NB,
she is the daughter of the late Moses and Ethel (Clark)
Montgomery.
In her early years, Vera (Honey) worked at the Milltown cotton mill
and later at the Saint Croix Courier and Sears. She was a longtime
member of the Kirk McColl United Church in St. Stephen. Vera enjoyed
her home, reading, knitting, Sid Crosby, and most of all playing cards
and spending time with her family.
Vera is survived by her two daughters, Donna Kervin (Paul) of Napan,
NB, Patsy Wanhella (Jerry) of Saskatchewan; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer,
Stephen, Amy, Lisa and Megan; 8 great grandchildren, Hannah, Matthew,
Isabella, Lucas, Sage, Griffin, Astin and Ever; one brother, Clark
Montgomery of Greenwood, NS, and one sister, Hazel Babcock of St.
Stephen, NB.
Vera was predeceased by 4 sisters, Izetta Beek, Irene Moffatt, Thelma
Woods, and Doris Farthing and 2 brothers, James Montgomery and Arthur
Montgomery.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Stephen Rural
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of the donor’s choice
