Theresa Kathleen (Boudreau) Keefe
1935-2018
KEEFE, THERESA KATHLEEN
(BOUDREAU), – age 82 years of Little Dover, Guys. Co.
We the family of the late Theresa Kathleen (Boudreau) Keefe,
with very saddened hearts, would like to announce her
peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Eastern Memorial
Hospital, Canso.
Theresa was a very kind, loving and gentle soul who devoted
her life to being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Theresa
took much pride and joy in the entirety of the duties involved in
these roles; and was so proud of all her children, grandchildren and
great – grandchildren whom she loved dearly and cherished.
Theresa had a smile that was very infectious and touched the hearts of
many that knew her and ever had the pleasure of being in her presence.
Theresa was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need
within the community. Theresa put forth her powerful strength and
courage throughout her years of trials and tragedies which bestowed
upon her the title of « Our Rock ». She was a true example of
how to survive the most difficult situations.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Mary (Kevin) Zinck,
East River; Agnes Keefe (Dennis), Little Dover; Toby (Donald) George,
Halfway Cove; Juanita Keefe, Little Dover; her sons, Eddie (April),
Canso; Gerald (Jenny), Little Dover; Tom (Cindy), Antigonish; 20
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Stella)
Boudreau and Cletus Boudreau all of Little Dover; her only surviving
sister, Winnifred (Howard) Jackson, Canso. Theresa will also
be lovingly missed by her very special friends, Bette Boudreau, Paula
Keefe and Dorothy Zinck.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Clarence
« Cank » Keefe; son Merle; daughter, April; her parents,
Edward and Eulalia (Munro) Boudreau; brothers, Les, Albert, Gerald and
Arnold; sister, Bernice Rossong and two brothers in infancy. We would
like to acknowledge the love togetherness, and devotion of our family
that have allowed us to keep our Mama at home to care for her during
her lengthy battle with Dementia; families when together can conquer
anything. We have been especially blessed with the dedicated
services and compassionate care provided by her home support workers,
Ashley, Melanie, Lindsey, Kim, Kerri, Sheena and Denise
– you all brought out Mama’s beautiful smile and
touched our hearts in ways you will never know. To the home care
nurses who visited frequently, Bessie, Thelma, and Clem –
your professionalism was always outstanding and very much
appreciated.
To our very dear neighbours Joey and Agnes Casey –
you have been such a great support to us over the years; our greatest
appreciation for you is endless. To the First Responders, EHS and all
the staff and Doctors of Eastern Memorial Hospital who provided Mama
with such amazing care and compassion during her final day on this
earth and making sure the family had what they needed while there for
the night – you all are to be commended.
Mama you have certainly earned a special set of Angel wings
to soar high as you begin your new journey to be reunited with all
those gone before you. You will forever be lovingly missed and in our
hearts beautiful lady and « Our Rock ».
