Obituary for Stephanie Lys
May 30, 1987 – February 25, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Stephanie Lys announces that she passed away suddenly in Vancouver on February 25, 2018. She will be forever remembered by her parents Lorraine (LeCheminant), Peter, sister Rebecca, brother-in-law Ryan Martin, and niece Chloë. She will also be missed by her aunts Elizabeth LeCheminant and Rita Lys, her uncle Peter LeCheminant, and her cousins Megan LeCheminant, Alex Rogers, and Peter Alan Rogers. Stephanie earned a Certificate in International Business at Algonquin College, then received a BA in Business Administration in Kelowna, B.C. Steph and her precious Chihuahua Princeton moved to Vancouver but visited her Ottawa friends whenever they could. They were in fact looking forward to visiting again this summer.
Stephanie had a sparkplug personality and was quick to smile, hug, laugh, and cry. Her generosity and enthusiasm were contagious, and she was fiercely protective of her family and friends. She was passionate about good food and wine, and always knew the best restaurant in every city. Stephanie was one-of-kind and was taken at far too young of an age. She will be greatly missed by her family and a large circle of friends in both cities.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Steph’s Life at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway) on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 1-5pm.
