Obituary for
Stefania Kulesza
Stefania Kulesza, 96, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke in Hamilton.
Born in 1922 in a small village in Poland, she emigrated to Canada after the war in 1947 to southern Ontario, where she met and married Waclaw Kulesza, who pre-deceased her in 1998. They made Hamilton their home and loved living here. She is survived by her 3 children, Wanda, John and Henry (Pat) and her grandson Andrew Kulesza (Amanda) and 2 great grandchildren Aaron and Alex plus 2 sisters and a brother in Poland and numerous nieces and nephews there. She was pre-deceased by her friend of 70 years Maria Kicinski of Port Colborne, where they were roommates with many stories to tell before their respective marriages.
Stefania was a kind hearted, loving mother with a great sense of humour and love of life and a happy demeanour. She loved to bake, tend to her many gardens, maintain an antiques collection, talk to her friends on the phone for hours, feed hungry children and animals and in her later years, visit the dreaded casinos. Lately her greatest joy was having visits from her great grandchildren and feeding the birds on the grounds of St. Peter’s Residence. We are very grateful to the staff there for their exceptional kindness, great care and support during the last 5 years.
At Stefania’s request, cremation is taking place with a private family interment at a later date.
The memory of our dear mother will live on in our hearts forever and we expect to hear her voice in our heads saying “did you feed the birds?”

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Stefania
