NICOLOYANNIS, Spyridion “Nick”
December 25, 1938 – March 18, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Spyridion Nicoloyannis (aka “Nick”) with his loving family by his side.
Nick was born in Greece and immigrated to Northern BC in 1968, working first for the railways and pipelines and then spending many years along the Alaska Highway. In 1971, while visiting family in Greece, Nick met and married his wife Helen, returning on their new adventure in Fort Nelson, BC to raise 3 children. After 35 years in Fort Nelson, Nick and his family then moved to Vernon.
Talking about politics and going out for coffee at his regular hang outs were a few of the pleasures he enjoyed in life but his main love and focus was his family.
Nick will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen, to whom he was married for 46 years; one daughter, Alexandra (Doug) of Vernon BC; two sons: Angelo (Lia) of Vancouver BC and Elias of Vernon BC; and his 5 grandchildren: William, Dimitri, Athina, Leonidas and Aleko; and by his numerous nephews , nieces and many dear friends.
The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on March 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery followed by a reception in the tea room of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Nick, may be sent to the B.C. Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of B.C.
