Linda Skocaj passed away in Kelowna, BC, Canada on October 2, 2018 at the age of 83. Linda was born November 2, 1934 in Smartno, Gorisca Brda, Slovenia. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Aldo of West Kelowna; son Robert; brothers Humbert Rozic and Bruno Rozic both of Stratford, ON; sister Viktoria Siler of Vrba, Gorenska, Slovenia. Predeceased by son Eddy Skocaj and brother Ferdinand Rozic.
Mom was born and raised in Slovenia. She met Aldo, her future husband, in Slovenia and in January 1961 she came to Canada and they lived in Calgary. On March 18, 1961 they were married. Robert was born April 26, 1962 and was followed by son Eddy born May 9, 1964. Linda was employed in the service industry briefly and maintained the family home as a homemaker. She belonged to the Slovenian-Canadian Club and also the Lakeview Heights Slovenian-Canadian Club. Linda and Aldo have resided in Kelowna, BC since 1985.
Funeral Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, BC on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
Viewing to be held at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC on Wednesday, October 10th from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
