With hearts full of treasured memories, the Grey Nuns announce the passing of Sister Simone Mageau at Youville Auxiliary Hospital, St. Albert, Alberta on March 30, 2018 at the age of 100.
Sister Simone was born in St. Lina, Alberta on May 11, 1917. She was the sixth in a family of sixteen. Her parents were Emile Mageau and Yvonne St-Onge.
She joined the Grey Nuns in August, 1936.
Sister Simone served generously as a registered nurse and provided pastoral care in Saskatoon, Calgary and St. Paul.
Left to mourn her loss are: the Grey Nuns; one sister, Cecile
(George); sisters-in-law, Angeles and Desneiges; brother-in-law,
Herb and many nephews and nieces.
The Grey Nuns express their deep gratitude to the nursing staff
at Youville Home for their dedicated and compassionate care
throughout her stay.
Father Ed Kosa, OMI will celebrate a Funeral Mass at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert. Interment to follow at St. Albert Catholic Cemetery.
