Sister Louise will be fondly remembered by members of her religious community, friends, former students and collaborators in education and at Serenity Renewal for Families. Born in Toronto ON, Sister Louise entered the Congregation of Notre Dame in 1951, making her Religious Profession in 1953. For twenty-eight years she was a very successful teacher serving at Cathedral School in Kingston ON and at Campanile Campus and St. Pius X High School in Ottawa. An insightful observer, she noticed the impact addictions were having on her students, which evolved into a second career as a qualified addictions counsellor. Recognizing the effect of addictions on the whole family, Sister Louise and Alexis Smith, a CND Associate, co-founded Serenity Renewal for Families which has served thousands of people since its founding in 1983.
