SHIPPEY, IVY
1933 — 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivy Shippey on November 30, 2018. She is survived by her loving daughter Coleen (Brent) Cheal and her grandchildren Kyle and Kaleena. Also survived by brothers Ken (Gwen) Welford, Francis Welford, nephews Trevor, Stephen and Robert, nieces Melanie, Dawn and Jo, all of Yorkshire England. Predeceased by her husband Alex, mother Elsie, father Frank and sister Lily.
Ivy had a great love for nature: she would spend hours outdoors gardening and watching the birds eat at the many feeders Alex had made—hummingbirds were her favourite. Throughout the years, her canine companions, Jericho and TJ, would keep her company. She enjoyed painting, especially of her beloved Staithes and surrounding villages of Yorkshire. Ivy’s dementia took her memories from her far too soon, but her paintings will live on. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
