Sheryl Ann Monk
1949-2017
Monk, Sheryl Ann, 68, Lower Truro, passed away Saturday,
December 30, 2017 in Debert Court, Debert, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth
(Campbell) Clarke. Sheryl was a member of the Old Barns United Church
and a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society as well as Diabetes

with church and school bake sales and suppers. A devoted mother and
wife, Sheryl placed her family ahead of herself. After a long
day’s work was complete, she was content to go for a walk in
the woods, enjoy nature and tend to her flower and vegetable
gardens.
She is survived by her husband Robert of Lower Truro; son
Jason (Jennifer) Monk of Princeport; grandchildren, Eva and Jacob;
sister Linda McKay, Toronto; brothers Dwight, Saskatoon, Ivan, Hilden,
Wayne, Glengarry, Pictou Co; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother-in-law
Blaine McKay.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall-Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro where visitation will take place
on Saturday evening from 7-9 pm and where funeral service will take
place on Sunday, Jan. 7th at 3:00 pm. Reverend
John Parsons will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral
home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may
be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of
choice. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the
