Sanderson « Say Say » Mel Fraser
Fraser, Sanderson Mel “Say Say”, age 51, of North Preston, passed away December 26, 2018 in Northwood Manor, Halifax.
Born in North Preston, he was a son of the late Evangeline and Louis Fraser.
He worked for Oceans until his illness. He was an avid lover of hockey; his favorite team was the Montreal Canadiens. He also loved baseball and basketball. Sanderson participated in community sports; he played hockey the most, and he also helped with boxing training. He also enjoyed detailing cars.
He is survived by daughters, Marika, Taiwana, Tremeya, Trekiya, Trekeya and Kiwi; sons, Sanderico, Tremel, Devontae, Sanquez, Rik’quajah, and Jordon; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl, Dartmouth, and Emma (Richard), Toronto, Ont.; brothers, Ranosker (Lillian) Beals, Jerome, Dartmouth, Draper, Halifax.
Also survived by sisters, Angela and Elizabeth, of Dartmouth, Janice, Denise, and Charlotte of North Preston, and Lolita (Clinton), Toronto, Ont.; brothers, Fabian (Carla), North Preston, Todd (Ferenda), Cherry Brook, David (Ronalda), East Preston, Darren, Dartmouth, Andy of Calgary, Alberta, Tony (Shauna), Dartmouth, Brenton (Tessie), Truro; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Gertrude and Garfield Beals and paternal grandparents Eunice and Isaac Fraser; and sister Lorna Colley.
The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday January 2nd in St. Thomas Baptist Church, Rev. Wallace Smith officiating with a viewing taking place from 12-1pm. Burial in Downey Road Cemetery. No wake or repast by request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Downey Road Cemetery or St Thomas Baptist Church.
