Roy died peacefully after a 4 year battle with cancer. Roy leaves behind Glenys, his loving wife of 49 years, a brother, extended family in England, and many friends in both England and Canada.
His passions were playing soccer as a young man, and watching soccer when he got older. Music was also very important to him. In the 1960’s he played guitar in a local rock group. During the last 3 years, he enjoyed playing in The Qualicum Beach Ukelele Band.
Roy married Glenys in 1968. In 1982, they emigrated to Canada.
Roy worked for the City of Calgary as a computer programmer. After retiring, Roy and Glenys moved to Parksville to enjoy better weather, and to live near the ocean.
Sleep my sweetheart, no more pain.
I would not wake you to suffer again.
At Roy’s request, there will be no funeral. There will be a Celebration of Life to honour him at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Yates Memorial Services, 1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville.
Please dress in bright colours. Roy would not want us to be sad. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted by Wheels for Wellness, 1894 Bolt Ave., Comox, BC V9M 2J4.
Sincere thanks to friends and neighbours for their kindness and prayers during this difficult time.
