Obituary for
Roger Alfred Langille
Langille, Roger Alfred, 74 – Harmony, passed peacefully away at home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer on December 29, 2018. It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to a loving husband, brother, step-father, grandfather and great grandfather. We are saddened that he is no longer with us, but we know that he has gone home to be with the Lord. Born August 9, 1944 in Truro, N.S., he was the son of the late Ronald and Vera Langille. Roger worked at E. Lynds Enterprises for approximately 17 years before retiring in April 2010. We will remember him most for his selflessness, his spirit and for his dedication to his family and his faith. He will be truly missed by his devoted wife, Joan; step-daughters, Cindy (Doug) Alfred, Harmony, Dawn (Wayne) Aalders, Dartmouth, Lisa (Tim) Day, Harmony; stepson, Barry (Tammy) Reid, Harmony. Roger is also survived by grandchildren, Kristen (Serge) LeBlanc, Michael Alfred, Allison, James and Emily Patriquin, Micah, Madison and Benjamin Reid as well as great grandchildren, Desmond and Julianna LeBlanc; sister, Rita (Jim) Webb, Bible Hill; niece, Heather Steele Campbell and nephew, David Steele. He was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Steele, New Glasgow. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Murray, VON Palliative Care and MacQuarries Home Health. A special thank you to those who went above and beyond to provide for us in our time of need. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, N.S. where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd from 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Connection Church, 38 Pleasant St., Truro, N.S. on Thursday, January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons or charity of choice.
