Went to be with the Lord peacefully with family by her side on July 27, 2018 at the age of 70. Survived by her loving husband Ron of 48 years; sons: Randy (Sandra) of Edmonton, Darren (Sabine) of Lake Country; daughter Christine (Paul) Cockings of West Kelowna; grandchildren: Arwynn, Ethan and Claudia; sisters: Ruth (Joe) Dion of Vancouver, BC, Lois (Harold) Mickelson of Barrhead, AB; sister-in-law Trudy Roesler of Kelowna; nephews: Joshua, Bryon, James and many dear friends. Predeceased by her father Hugo Fisch in 1955 and her mother Hilda Fisch in 1997.
Doris was a friend to many, loved by all who met her. She cared selflessly for her family and gave the best of herself to make the lives of those around her better. She is best remembered for her unwavering faith, ability to listen, and quick wit. Doris carried the burdens of many; with her encouragement and kind words she made you feel you could take on any problem. She shared the hope she had in Jesus with the people around her and inspired many by how she lived. She will be missed!
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 3rd at 11:00 am at the Church of God, 3705 Mission Springs Drive, Kelowna, BC, V1W 3L8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Haitian Children’s Aid Society, www.hcas.ca or the North Okanagan Valley Gleaners, www.novgleaners.org.
