Obituary of Robert Punga
Robert Wayne Punga died peacefully at home in the company of his family on July 25, 2018 in Amherstburg, Ontario at the age of 76.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Suzanne, and his children David, Stephen and wife Ling Lau, and Aaron and wife Amber, sister Marne Richard, grandchildren Jordan, Nathan, Hannah, Judah, Elliott, Levi, Josette, Jude, Poppy and Bobby Rain. He is preceded in death by sister Lorraine Punga.
Robert was a teacher, coach and principal with the Windsor Public School Board. He was an artist at heart and used his creativity as a writer, painter, carpenter and illustrator, often sketching comical situations of his family and friends.
Bob really enjoyed his family and always found time to help his sons with their homework or play catch in the backyard. His children remember him as someone who was generous with his time and a creative problem solver who encouraged them to think for themselves and pursue their ambitions.
Bob was a strong believer in Christ and found great comfort in his faith. (2 Corinthians 5:1-5)
Bob was an active member of the Kingsville Golf Club who enjoyed the many friendships developed there.
The family wishes to thank the many people who supported us during this time. Special thanks to neighbors Mark and Elaine, PSW Dan, VON John and the many friends who visited, texted and supported us in prayers and thoughts. It made such a difference.
A memorial open house is scheduled for Monday, July 30th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Kingsville Golf & Country Club, 640 County Rd. 20 W., Kingsville, ON.
