Obituary of Robert Hull
HULL, Robert W – Left this world on June 24, 2018. This fiercely independent and much decorated veteran of WW2 RAF Squadron 570 joins his beautiful girl Betty, his wife of 69 years, who passed October 24th, 2017. He was passionate about living and remained involved in his life decisions to the end.
He loved to learn either by reading or figuring it out all by himself throughout his life. The History and Military channels were perfect for him. CGE Wire and Cable was his life work but his passion was downhill skiing which he enjoyed until his 91st year. He was instrumental in the design of Peterborough Ski Club as well as Devil’s Elbow Ski Club. In summer his passion was gardening and driving around in his red Miata convertible. Every Remembrance Day he proudly marched to acknowledge those who never came back from the war. He delighted in sharing his experiences in the war with young school children showing them his model plane to enrich his stories when he toured their schools. He was always ready to help his neighbours whenever he was asked. He remained a proud and loving father to Chris and Honda (Dr. John Ludwig). Two of his brothers survive him, Norman (Kathy) and Fred (Marie). We have treasured every moment of his long life and his support. We love you dad.
Donations to his favorite charity, the Salvation Army, which was instrumental to his well-being during the war, or a charity of your choice is appreciated.
Betty Hull was a warm, creative ballet dancer, ballet teacher, singer, and actress who enriched the lives of those she taught to dance or who enjoyed her singing. The St. John’s Players and the Peterborough Theatre Guild benefited through her choreography, her stage performances or her role directing musicals as unique as she was. We miss you mom.
