Robert (Bob) William Woolley
Peacefully but suddenly on April 17, 2018, Robert (Bob) William Woolley passed away due to cancer treatment complications at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Bob was born on June 1, 1947 to Bill and Edna, and was raised on the farm in Shellbrook, SK. He graduated university with a degree in accounting and moved to Calgary as a young adult. He married his wife Marg and together they rooted themselves in Edmonton and raised three children. He worked as a traveling accountant as a young adult, at an accounting firm in Calgary for a couple years, and with Eric Green and Associates for over 30 years. Bob retired in autumn 2017.
Bob was a quiet and reserved person. He only opened himself up to particular people; but when he did, he was quirky and funny, nerdy and boisterous. He was a hard worker and gave everything his all, from his career to his yard. He volunteered at his children’s elementary school as the PTA treasurer for many years, and gave blood on a regular basis. Once Bob got his dog Misty, he became more relaxed, easy going, and happy. As time went by he became more social and chatty to those he came across, be it in the community or at church. Bob was actively involved at Faith Community Church as the main ‘Sound Guy’, giving him an outlet for his love of technology. He also loved his family, dog, yard, sports, and friends. Bob was content and loved life; he was tough and never complained. His strength and positivity have inspired countless people. He will be missed by many.
Predeceased by his wife: Marg; parents: Edna and Bill; in-laws: Keith and Ada; and brother-in-law Dave. Bob will lovingly be remembered by his children son Dale; daughters: Cindy (Matt) and Sherri (Travis); sisters: Inez (Erwin) and Faye; brother: Bill (Linda); and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Donations in Bob’s honour can be made to the Faith Community Church in Edmonton, Alberta; or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
