Rhynold, Rita Marion
« Nan », age 95. Our mom passed away
September 14, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit, St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Rita was born in Little Dover, Guysborough County
on May 31, 1923 to the late Alex and Lillian (Sampson) Rhynold. She
married the love of her life, John, making their home in Halifax and
Kentville, later retiring in Heatherton and spending their summers in
Fox Island.
She is survived by daughter, Diane Clarke and son
David (Marcia) eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister,
Margie Bray; brother, Jim (Pearlie); sisters in law, Mary Flemming and
Betty Rhynold; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John; son in
law, John Clarke; siblings, Geraldine, Genesta, Albert, Len and
Bud.
At Rita’s request, there will be no
visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ninian Cathedral at 11:00
am on Wednesday, September 19th. Reception to follow in
John Paul Centre. Burial at Star of the Sea Cemetery, Canso at a later
date.
Donations in memory of Rita may be made to St.
Martha’s Palliative Care Unit or Star of the Sea Cemetery
Fund, Canso.
